I was present and it was perfect.

I picked a great time and day for my first reflective walk! I felt very cooped up and needed to escape so off I went, not heeding any weather forecast. I took the neighbour's dog Elvis as I thought he'd enjoy it.

Going down an overgrown path, he was nervous and hesitant and kept looking back at me, unsure of whether to carry on. Have we forgotten how to be explorers?!!

And the rain came down. Me and Elvis were in a wooded area as it hammered down. I sheltered under a tree and he came and joined me. It felt amazing to be there as the weather did its stuff and we heard, felt and saw it.

]It felt like it was MY city again, after the crowds of the summer and the heat of last week or so where everyone flocked to the beach and it was so noisy. It was good to stand in the rain and look out over my dominion!

I made contact with the world.

I felt vital and alive.

I was present and it was perfect.
